Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
On this Labor Day, we recognize and celebrate the workers of our great country who have sacrificed, endured, and worked tireless hours to make our communities and the United States of America a country to be proud of. Now more than ever we honor those who have stepped up as “so called” essential workers to help us through these trying times we have endured with Covid -19.
Some have been out in the workforce working around the clock trying to keep our communities safe and healthy, some have been working as a volunteer to organize resource centers to provide necessities for families who are in need during the pandemic.
And what about the American family, the parents who have struggled to provide for the needs of their family. Many have worked endless hours, adjusted to new schedules, working from home, helped children finish the past school year strong by schooling at home.. and some have endured lay-offs from their jobs and had to persevere and stay strong.
This is what Labor Day 2020 is all about! The Essential Worker… in a sense we are All essential whether you have been laid off, work as a stay at home mom or dad, or whether you have been a worker who has been working on the frontlines such as the health care provider, first responders, and educators. Today we celebrate all workers, across every sector of our economy. We have all had to come together and work together to make it through this time.
The American Worker is one who is proud to be a contributor to our communities by using their God given talents to make this great land we live in the land that we all love. The American Worker is dedicated and proven time and time again we are overcomers!
On this Labor Day we show our appreciation and deepest gratitude to every American worker.. past and present who has contributed to our prosperous country! And, We ARE the most prosperous country in the world. We all have been given the freedom to choose our career path.. we all have been given the freedom to choose our lot in life… so to the American worker, who serves as the retail worker, health care provider, first responder, educator, Pastor, pharmacist, hairstylist, trucker, farmer, factory worker, small business owner, city worker, county worker, plumber, electrician, mechanic, grocery store stocker, and to the volunteer who works to make our communities a better place to live, and yes, even the stay at home mom and dads who work keeping their families in tact without pay and benefits. This is just to name a few…So whether you work tireless hours outside of the home or whether you work tireless hours taking care of a home and family… YOU are valuable, needed, and all are Essential. So, for all of you out there on this Labor Day may you be proud of the work you do, the person you are, and the difference you make! HAPPY LABOR DAY!
